The Root & Scalp Spa addresses your scalp wellness: sixty to ninety minutes in a private room on a heated massage bed, beginning with a scalp analysis on screen, then deep botanical cleansing, exfoliation, steam, and an extended pressure-point massage across the scalp, neck, and shoulders. What to expect.
Before
Your scalp analysis on screen, and a short conversation about what you want out of the hour.
During
A private room, dim light, a heated bed, no phones. You stay reclined for the entire treatment.
After
A second analysis, something cold to drink, and a recommendation for when to come back. You leave clean and damp, and we recommend air-drying.
Deep botanical cleanse
Exfoliation and detox of the scalp using biodynamic botanicals: the step a shampoo bowl can’t do.
Buildup lifted
Product, sebum, and mineral residue cleared from the root line, where it collects and stays.
A balanced scalp
Support for a clean, balanced scalp environment, the condition your hair looks its best in.
Comfort restored
Soothes a scalp that’s dry, flaky, oily, or itchy, and leaves it calm rather than stripped.
Tension released
An extended shoulder, neck, and head massage. This is the part guests talk about afterward.
Seen, not guessed
Scalp analysis on screen at the start and again at the end, so the change isn’t something you take on faith.
Arrive with hair down and detangled. Arrive early if you want to sit in the quiet first. Most guests do.
After your treatment
Your hair will be left clean and wet following your service. We intentionally recommend air-drying afterward, as it allows your scalp to fully benefit from the exfoliation and treatment. Not to worry: we do have blow dryers and brushes on hand if you’d like a quick style before you head out.

The Room
The bed is half the treatment.
You can’t relax on a salon chair with your neck bent over a basin, so we commissioned the furniture before we built the menu. Our head spa beds are custom, built to our specification rather than pulled from a catalog.
- Full recline: weight distributed, no pressure on the neck or lower back
- Cradled support: the head is held, not balanced
- Heated massage: warmth and gentle massage beneath you for the length of the ritual
- Private basin: integrated at the right height, so water and steam stay where they belong
Most guests fall asleep. We take that as the review.

The Products
Grown, not manufactured.
Most salon products are assembled in a lab. Oway’s are grown on a farm: a fifty-thousand-square-meter estate in the hills of Bologna called Ortofficina, where lavender, sage, rosemary, and thyme are cultivated biodynamically.
- No pesticides, no herbicides, no synthetic fertilizers
